Hello

Hi! I am Olivia, its lovely to meet you! I'm a born and raised Michigander, Spartan grad and proud Millennial. Although I didn't find my true passion and love for baking until my 20's, I grew up in a home where all treats were homemade. I'll make anything from breads to cakes to brownies but love a fresh baked cookie more than anything.

I currently reside in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area with my husband and two kids, who of course love all the fresh goodies. If not for them, Anahebik Bakery would never exist.

The Anahebik Story

I truly believe everyone is happy when eating a cookie, and I love making people happy. It started when I brought in Christmas cookies to share at my first post-college job and I saw the joy across my co-workers faces when they took their first bite. I began collecting family recipes and practicing over the weekends. Baking became my stress-relief, my cure for boredom and my easy "thinking of you" treat. I started researching the science and chemistry behind baking and how flavors and techniques can change the outcome of a bake. And people noticed.

Jump ahead a few years to the summer of 2024. I had returned to work after maternity leave, where I spent many days with my baby strapped to me and baking in the kitchen. That same week, my mother-in-law, who had consistently told me to sell my goodies, had passed away from cancer. I felt broken and lost, and I coped with considerable amounts of baking. After a family outing with my latest creation, my brother-in-law told me if I didn't start selling cookies within a year I'd have a problem. I took it to heart. I named my soon-to-be bakery "Anahebik" which is roughly translated to "I love you" in Arabic, and how my toddler ended every conversation with his late grandmother. By Christmas I had my first order.
